Beauty Tips - Hair Styling Products
By: Debrah Dragon

For most people they just can’t get the style they want no matter how hard they work, this is especially true for people with straight hair. When hair dries up and the winds stat to blow they hair style can blow off in the wind as well. Fortunately the market is flooded with all sorts of styling creams, mosses and gels that should work to keep your style under control. But just how safe is it to use these types of commercial solutions? Well lately they have become safe to the extent that extended usage wont cause any real damage, however one side effect is dandruff and dry hair. If you begin to notice these symptoms then its time that you halted the use of your styling product for a few weeks.

Who is in control of your hairdo- you, or your hair? If you have some bossy locks that you can't get to step in line, or just can't get the new style you've been trying to work out, you may be in need of some new styling products. Not every gel, spray or wax is right for every style, so be styling product-savvy, be in charge, and get the look you've always wanted every time. Whether you're shopping online, at a department store, or picking up some product at the hair salon, there are lots of options out there when it comes to styling products. The best way to determine which of these many products is right for you is to ask yourself what kinds of hair style you're looking for. Match the styling product to the style, and you'll get great results.

If you're looking for body, more than one hair styling tool will work. Mousse is a traditional favorite for this purpose. You can usually get it in a variety of forms, from spray to traditional mousse-pump form, so pick the type you feel the most comfortable using. When you work a small amount thoroughly through the roots of you hair while it's damp, mousse will give your hair great body and bounce, and a low-gloss sheen to boot. Blow dry with the dryer pointed up at your roots, or with your head upside down to flip your hair, for extra volume. Just don't use too much mousse to avoid crunchy, brittle hair- less is more.

Hair gel can also help add a little extra volume to otherwise limp hair, when worked through your hair in the same manner, although blow-drying will produce better results than not in this case. It can also be added to damp hair before styling, to help give your style a firm hold, or worked through scrunched curls for extra body and definition. And it might give you flashbacks to the eighties, but hairspray is a good product for holding your style, too. Spray your style lightly and evenly, to avoid an inconsistent, crunchy surface. If you're looking for a high-gloss, firm hold, you may want to invest in some styling wax. Styling wax allows you to comb defined textures into your hairstyle that will hold all day. Different waxes have different levels of shine and hold, so shop around to find that fresh, wet look or mega-hold you've been looking for. Just make sure to wash all products and hair accessories out thoroughly, so your hair can start out fresh and beautiful from the get-go the next day.

Don’t forget to wash your hair thoroughly before you go to bed, don’t leave these things on all night as they can adversely affect your hair and scalp.
